EARLY 20TH CENTURY AMERICAN VINTAGE 'NESCO' TIN KEROSENE BLUE/SILVER
CAN, W/WIRE HANDLE/TURNED
WOODEN HAND GRASP
(Circa 1920-1935)
Early 20th c American containers
Just a few minor abrasions and possibly some small dings and dents to the exterior sidewalls as a result of previous handling. Any damage is very slight, and the can is in exceptionally well preserved overall vintage condition. The can is decorated with two top and bottom deep blue stripes that appear to be sprayed on over a stencil. The blue on the top of the can's sidewalls rides up onto the curved cover. The pouring spout screw-on tin cover is present, as well as the pouring fill opening tin screw-on cover (which is fairly remarkable in and of itself.) The can features a strong, sturdy wire handle with a turned wooden hand grasp. The label has deteriorated but the rest of the can is in very good condition for its age. A great early 20th century rustic, primitive American kerosene can, now capable of fulfilling garden chores or used simply as home decor. Neat.
